Select Board Meeting July 27th, FYI
CONTRACTS:
The Winter Plowing contract was awarded to Johnson Excavation and McNeil Farms at the July 13th Board meeting . The Board of Selectmen and both contractors signed the contract at the meeting on July 27th.
Johnson and McNeil bid a 3-year contract at a rate of $7,000.00 per mile during 2021-2022, $7,200.00 per mile during 2022-2023, and $7,400.00 per mile during 2023-2024.
The Winter Sand contract was awarded to Streaked Mountain Aggregates, LLC for a term of 3-years beginning 2021-2022 through 2023-2024. The bid was accepted at $12.00 per yard, with an additional $1.00 stockpiling fee per yard, up to 5,000 cubic yards.
A performance bond will not be required for either of the Winter Roads contracts. The Town is confident in its ability to safeguard the surety of their performance by issuing payment through schedule over the course of the Winter season. Payments to each contractor will be made on a monthly basis, October through April.
ROADS REPORT:
Road Commissioner Andrew Wickson reported that gravel will be delivered to Decoster Road during the remainder of the week, please be aware of possible delays if traveling this route.
UPCOMING EVENTS: The Board of Selectmen approved the postponing of the Annual Town Meeting to 9 AM, AUGUST 28th at the Sumner Town Office.
1 Ballot clerk is needed for the Town Meeting.
Please be advised that the Board of Selectmen voted to approve, as an article on the Town of Sumner Town Meeting Warrant, a proposed ordinance for the "ADULT USE OF MARIJUANCE CULTIVATION." A copy of the proposed ordinance can be found on the Town website. A public hearing will not be held on this matter. If you have any questions or concerns please contact the Sumner Town Office.
