Volunteer Fire Firefighter Trainings are held every 2nd Thursday of the month at 6:00 PM in the Sumner Fire Barn (located at the Sumner Town Office.)
Volunteer Fire Department Meetings are held every 3rd Thursday of the month at 6:00 PM at the Sumner Town Office.
If you need an Open Burn Permit:
This online service allows people to obtain an open burning permit 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Permits are issued at no cost.

The Sumner Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary: The main objective of the Fire Auxiliary is to help the people of Sumner in any way possible. The majority of the time is spent raising funds and providing services to the fire department. The Auxiliary hosts an annual yard sale, has a Christmas Tree Lighting, purchases flags to be placed on firefighters' cemetery plots, and also donates to several local charities (Sumner Easter Egg Hunt, Sumner-Hartford Food Bank, and the Buckfield Jr/Sr High School Chorus. The Auxiliary also hosts potluck suppers for the firefighters and auxiliary members. The Auxiliary has a Facebook Page (Sumner Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary).
